Meetworthy

Privacy Policy

Effective: June 2, 2025

Meetworthy is designed to collect as little information as possible. This page explains exactly what we do and don't store.

What we collect

Meeting name

When you create a meeting, the name you provide is stored. It is deleted automatically 7 days after creation.

Email address (optional)

If you enter an email address when creating a meeting, we send you the meeting link and then immediately discard the raw address. We store only a one-way cryptographic hash (HMAC-SHA-256) — it cannot be reversed to recover your address. If you request results by email later, that address is used to send one email and then discarded; it is never written to our database.

Voter cookie

When you visit a meeting page, we set a cookie named mw_voter that contains a random identifier. This lets us prevent duplicate votes. The raw value is sent to our server with each request (as all cookies are), hashed in memory, and only the one-way hash is written to our database — the raw value is never stored. The cookie expires after 90 days. You can delete it at any time by clearing cookies in your browser.

Vote

Your thumbs-up or thumbs-down response, associated with your hashed voter token, is stored for the life of the meeting (up to 7 days).

IP addresses and server logs

Our web server records IP addresses in standard access logs and uses them for rate limiting. We do not store IP addresses in our application database. Log files are retained for a short period for operational purposes and then deleted.

Data retention

All meeting data and associated votes are hard-deleted 7 days after the meeting is created. There is no archive or backup that retains this data beyond that window.

What we don't do

  • No user accounts or persistent profiles
  • No tracking pixels or behavioral analytics
  • No selling or sharing of data with third parties
  • No advertising

Third-party resources

This site loads Tailwind CSS and HTMX from public CDNs. Those CDN providers may log your IP address as part of serving those files. We have no control over their data practices.
